What is G.R.I.T. Camp?
G.R.I.T. (Guiding Resilient Transfer Students) Camp is a free program designed by your Illinois Transfer Ambassadors and funded by the Office of New Student Programs. This one-day trip is intended for incoming transfer students and serves as a means for transfer students to build community, learn about the university, gain personal skills, and of course have fun!
When is G.R.I.T. Camp?
The date for G.R.I.T. Camp is Saturday, September 9. Students should start checking in at 8 am. Once the program is over, we will arrive back on campus around 9 pm.
Are there any costs associated with attending G.R.I.T. Camp?
No, the entire G.R.I.T. Camp program is free for incoming transfer students who sign up!
What about food?
Lunch and dinner will be provided to all students through the camp site dining halls. Students will be fed prior to leaving for camp. Students should bring additional snacks and water for themselves in case they are hungry between meals, though we will provide some snacks as part of the camp (s’mores anyone?).
How many students will be attending G.R.I.T. Camp?
The number of students to attend G.R.I.T. Camp is to be determined, as per student sign-up. The maximum number of students to attend is 54, so make sure to secure your spot now!

What types of activities will we be doing at G.R.I.T. Camp?
Activities will range from team-building to fun-filled activities. You will get the opportunity to form close bonds with your camp group, meet other transfers from your specific college, and get to know your Illinois Transfer Ambassadors. We hope to see you at G.R.I.T Camp!
